Dr. Van Ta Park is a tenured Associate Professor and Health Services Administration Concentration Coordinator. She teaches and/or has taught HS 135, HS 162, HS 262, and HS 295D. Her research interest is to address issues related to racial and ethnic minority health and healthcare disparities, especially among at-risk Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders. Her research areas include mental health, substance use, and intimate partner violence.
Dr. Ta Park was a NIDA postdoctoral fellow in Substance Abuse Treatment and Services Research at UCSF, Department of Psychiatry. She completed her doctoral studies in Health Policy and Management with a concentration in social and behavioral sciences at The Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health. She also has an MPH with a concentration in Health Promotion, a B.S. in Health Promotion and Disease Prevention, and a B.A. in Sociology from the University of Southern California. She enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and traveling.
