Dr. Irene Chou received her Ph.D. in Plant Biology, emphasis on molecular biology, from University of California, Davis. She continued her postdoctoral research in Plant Gene Expression Center of the Agricultural Research Service, U.S. Department of Agriculture, in Albany, California. Before joining San José State University, she was a staff scientist in biotechnology industry. She has been an instructor at SJSU teaching "Science, Physiology, and Nutrition" and "Issues in Food Toxicology" for more than 15 years.
