Information about Study Abroad for DACA students

(Posted 12.02.2016)

In the College of International and Extended Studies, we understand the importance of studying abroad. Currently, due to possible changes in immigration policies, we believe that it would be prudent for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) students to substitute international experiences with domestic immersion experiences within the United States rather than leaving the country. The GEI staff will be working with the Colleges and departments to identify these "study-abroad-at-home" experiences within the U.S. On campus, there are many opportunities to engage in international experiences including participation in the Global Student Network, living at the International House, pursuing recognition of your international involvement through the Global Leadership Advancement Center (GLAC), and volunteering in the community locally. If you have questions or concerns, please e-mail the SJSU Global Education and Initiatives Office.
