Short Term Programs

Study Abroad and Away is contributing to the internationalization of San José State University by providing students the opportunity to study abroad on short-term programs (Faculty-Led Programs and Summer School Abroad Programs), offering Alternative Spring Break Programs, and designing other globally focused opportunities. Through these experiences, we seek to cultivate a diverse global community through international academic opportunities and partnerships.

Faculty Led Programs: Study abroad on short-term programs taught by SJSU faculty, while earning SJSU course credit. Programs are typically 1-4 weeks long and take place during winter, spring and summer breaks.  On an FLP, you get to travel with SJSU faculty & classmates while you earn SJSU credit

Summer School Abroad: Take classes at an international university for a short-term study abroad program for 2-8 weeks during summer break! With support from the SAA team, you get to travel independently while you earn SJSU credit taking classes with other international students.

Alternative Spring Break: Explore another region of the United States and learn about the various cultures of the country for 1 week during spring break while you travel with an SJSU program leader & classmates! These are non-credit programs.

Internships and Service Learning: Complete an international internship or join a service-learning project at one of our global partner locations. Programs lengths vary but occur over summer break and you can earn SJSU credit! More information about internships in summer 2020 is coming soon!
