Campus improvement projects
Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library
$177.5 million collaborative project between the city of San Jose and SJSU. An eight-story library at the corner of Fourth and San Fernando Streets. State, city and private funds. Opened August 2003.
Business Classroom Project
$16 million renovation of the building, including telecommunications. State and private funds. Completed spring 2000.
$1.5 million installation of eight gateways around the perimeter of the campus. Privately funded. Dedicated fall 1999.
Child Care Center
Located at Eighth and William Streets. Funded by Associated Students. Opened summer 2000.
Housing Complex: Campus Village
Consisting of three buildings, with the tallest a 15-story high-rise, the residential complex can house up to 3,000 students. Opened fall 2005.
Multi-level facility adjacent to the Seventh Street Garage houses the University Police Department. State and private funding. Opened fall 2000.
