rewarding learning environment for students.

Spartans Transform Construction Site into a Work of Art
An SJSU Art student painting a mural, located by the Student Union, in front of the
Art Building. Students have decided to paint the wall that was put up after construction
started in order to celebrates the continuity of the past and present by showcasing
artist self-portraits of the past five hundred years.
The Center for Comparative Philosophy at San Jose State University is the first organized
research center for comparative philosophy (as broadly understood in a philosophically
interesting way) in the US. Its philosophy faculty represent a wide variety of (culture-associated
or style/orientation-associated) philosophical traditions and have remarkable research
agendas and publication records. A peer-reviewed, open-access international journal Comparative Philosophy, edited by its International Editorial Board, is jointly published by the Center
and the University Library at SJSU. Faculty and students of comparative philosophy
at SJSU enjoy a rich network of ideological, cultural and international resources
in the dynamic California Bay Area.
