Graduate Equity Fellowship

The purpose of the Graduate Equity Fellowship is to encourage and assist students in their pursuit and completion of Master’s degrees and careers in post-secondary education. This fellowship is only available to California resident students admitted and enrolled in a Master's degree program. Credential only candidates are not eligible.

Under the Graduate Equity Fellowship Program, awards of up to $3,000 may be made to graduate students enrolled at SJSU for the Fall/Spring academic year in which the call for applications is announced. Students must be enrolled in both academic terms and complete a minimum of six units in each. These twelve units must appear on the Master’s candidacy form for award of degree. Course work used to complete program pre-requisites will not fulfill this enrollment requirement.

Eligibility is based on possession of a first university degree equivalent to the U.S. baccalaureate by the first day of the Fall semester, admission into a graduate Master’s program at SJSU, residency in the state of California, demonstration of a GPA of at least 2.7 in all undergraduate work, demonstration/maintenance of a GPA of at least 3.0 in all graduate course work, demonstration of a minimum financial need of $1,000, and at least twelve semester units of graduate work to be completed.

How To Apply

The call for applications is announced in April on this website. Applications are due in early June and selections are made in September.
