Graduate Student Orientation

F14 Graduate Student Orientation

Welcome to San José State University

August 20, 2014

Important Notice as of 6/10/2014.  The PM Session is now closed.  There are spaces available in the AM Session.

Please join us for our Fall 2014 graduate orientation which will provide you with an overview of what to expect as a graduate student and assist you in your scholastic success.  All admitted students were recently sent a message requesting an intent to enroll and notification of graduate orientation sessions. Since these sessions are offered on a first-come, first-served basis, we encourage your early registration.  The sessions will remain open until they have been filled.

We are very excited to welcome all of our interested incoming graduate students at one time in our newly completed Student Union!  To do this, we have created two identical programs, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.  Surrounding those programs, we have self-selected activities including a resource fair, campus tours, and a poster session.  We encourage you to spend the day at SJSU getting to know us!

Important Information - Please Read

We are unable to accommodate schedule changes without a significant reason.  Please carefully choose the session you wish to attend.  If you wish to attend with a group of friends, make sure that the entire group chooses the same orientation time.

Space is limited so we ask that you do not bring guests to your orientation.  Only students who provide a QR Code ticket at registration will be allowed to attend the event.   Information about how to obtain a QR Code ticket will be forthcoming towards the end of July to all students who registered for orientation.

If you did not choose an orientation session when you provided SJSU with your intent to enroll, you may go back and do so at any time until August 1, 2014.

Inquiries must be in writing to Graduate Studies & Research.  Please submit them to cheryl.cowan@sjsu.edu.
