Master of Science in Applied Data Intelligence

Immerse yourself in the cutting edge of data intelligence, data engineering, and artificial intelligence. In today’s organizations, data and AI are strategic assets embedded across functions, and the MSADI program prepares graduates for careers in a wide range of industries, including roles such as AI engineer, AI software engineer, AI research associate, agentic AI engineer, generative AI engineer, and AI data engineer.
Students build portfolios of applied data science projects by leveraging the interrelationship between domain knowledge and AI technologies. Students advance their knowledge and skills through:
- Identifying domain specific problems, defining requirements, and establishing measurable organizational objectives.
- Exploring, preparing, visualizing, and governing data with reproducible practices.
- Bringing together data engineering and computational foundations with ML, deep learning, generative AI (LLMs), agentic and embodied AI, and distributed systems to deliver reliable, real-world descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, and prescriptive systems.
- Developing, validating, deploying, and monitoring AI systems to meet requirements and objectives responsibly.
The department launched the MS in Data Analytics program in August 2018 and updated the name to MS in Applied Data Intelligence in 2025 to reflect the evolution of the curriculum toward modern AI, generative AI, and applied data-intelligence practice.
The MSADI program provides students with the advanced education needed to design and deploy modern applied data science and AI solutions. Students learn to process and analyze data from multiple sources, build scalable data pipelines, extract actionable insights, and develop full-stack solutions enhanced by generative AI and agentic AI technologies.
By integrating data engineering, applied data science, analytics, and AI-driven system design, the program prepares students to solve complex problems from end to end. This includes using generative AI to support intelligent content generation and decision-making, and applying agentic AI approaches to build systems that can plan, act, and collaborate autonomously in production workflows.
