SJSU encourages its campus community members to exercise their right to vote. Various departments at SJSU provide resources to ensure voters can make informed decisions. You can find information about how to register and where to vote here.

Key Special Runoff Election Dates (Santa Clara County)

  • The last day to register to vote for the December 30, 2025 Special Runoff Election and receive a vote by mail (VBM) ballot is December 15, 2025.

  • Missed the registration deadline? Same-day or conditional voter registration begins on December 16, 2025.

  • All Santa Clara County active registered voters will receive a vote-by-mail ballot for the December 30, 2025 Statewide Special Election. Your county elections office will begin mailing ballots by December 8, 2025.

  • Ballot drop-off locations open on December 8, 2025.

  • Vote-by-mail ballots can be returned by mail, at a drop-off location, or your county elections office.

  • Election Day (the last day to vote in the Special Runoff Election) is December 30, 2025. Polls are open on Election Day 7am-8pm.

  • Vote-by-mail ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day December 30, 2025 and received no later than 7 days after Election Day.
