What is Guardian Scholars?

The Guardian Scholars Program (GSP) provides holistic support services for former and current foster youth, wards of the court, unaccompanied homeless youth, and youth under legal guardianship.

The program exists to help students persist, graduate, and be career-ready upon completion of their bachelor's degree. We do this by assisting students in navigating the SJSU system through access to key campus, community, and financial resources.

The Educational Opportunity Program (EOP) serves as the main academic resource for Guardian Scholars at SJSU, offering services, which include: academic advising, workshops, and tools that prepare students beyond a college degree.

SJSU Foster Youth Resources

Sign up for the Foster Youth Resources email, which provides information and resources focused on supporting students who identify as current or former foster youth.

The SJSU Foster Youth Resources email list  is intended for SJSU students who identify as current or former foster youth and are NOT in the Guardian Scholars Program, housed under the Educational Opportunity Program.
