With considerable sadness, we announce that Dr. Ann Lucas recently passed away after a brief illness with cancer. Ann's collegiality, professionalism, kindness, and compassion will be greatly missed by her family and friends, the many students she mentored, and her colleagues at San Jose State University and throughout the United States. Her roots are deep in the Bay Area where she earned her J.D. and Ph.D. from the University of California, Berkeley and was the editor of the Berkeley Women's Law Journal. Ann served as a faculty member in the Justice Studies Department for 9-years where her strong dedication to students and the department enhanced the quality of all our lives.
