The following list will show how to properly submit your international school work and degrees to our office. Please follow the instructions for your particular country so your documents can be accepted by our office.

Germany

Important: Due to the lengthy time that applicants face in getting a final or provisional degree certificate, we will not accept or process applications from current students who have not completed their 8th semester.

(TOEFL is waived for these universities which are of English medium)

Post-Secondary Education Document Requirements:

• University mark sheets for all years or semesters of study showing subjects and marks, with maximum and minimum passing grades. If college attended is affiliated to university, mark sheets must be issued by the university, not from college and must be on university letterhead. Marksheets from autonomous colleges (must say autonomous or deemed on mark sheets) are acceptable.
• Final degree/diploma certificate(s) from issuing university. Affiliated college issue is not accepted.
• A provisional degree certificate can accepted for provisional admission but must satisfy the following requirements:
  • Must be issued by university. Affiliated college issue is not accepted.
  • Clearly states when convocation will take place or when final exam was passed.
  • Is issued no more than one year prior to beginning of applied term.
  (If admitted provisionally with a provisional degree certificate, you will still need to receive and turn in your final degree certificate by the stated deadline on your admission letter)

Copies of original documents can be submitted if they are certified as true copies by:

• University, affiliated college, or autonomous college official
• India or US Consulate official
• SJSU Graduate Admissions Staff (bring originals and copies to office for certification)

Documents should already be in English, if not, word for word translation can be done by:

• School official (home country or USA)
• Government official (home country or USA)
• U.S. court certified translator

Certified copies, translations, and evaluations done by private services or U.S. notary publics will not be accepted.
