Welcome
The Office of Graduate Studies & Research along with San Jose State University and the California State University system are proud to sponsor several programs, awards, and competitions designed to cultivate and encourage student research and scholarship for current graduate students. Please browse through our programs listed on the side-bar to find out application requirements, deadlines, and past winners.
In addition SJSU has over 900 general and departmental scholarships available, ranging from $100 to $1,000 per year. Different sources fund these scholarships, including private donors, alumni, and private industry. Awards are generally based on scholastic achievement and financial need. About one-half of the awards are administered by the Financial Aid Scholarship Committee and one-half by the various academic departments on campus. Contact your department or college directly for a list of funding programs they may offer, as well as for information on the various research or teaching assistantships that are available at San José State University.
