To be eligible for the Career Development Fee Waiver Program, employees first need to apply to San José State University, be accepted and become a student working toward a degree.

First-time Career Development Employees

  1. Contact the Organizational Development & Training Specialist at 924-2141 to have the $55 University application fee waived
  2. Submit a University Application to Admissions & Records and be accepted by the University
  3. Submit a Staff Fee Waiver Career Development Application to Human Resources (0046). This fee waiver application has sections to be completed by:
    • The employee
    • The employee's supervisor
    • A general education advisor
    • An academic subject adivsor from the employee's major department

Returning Career Development Employees

  1. Submit a Staff Career Development Update Application
  2. Complete and submit a new form each semester

Career Development Employees Changing, Adding or Deleting Courses

  1. Submit a Staff Fee Waiver Application For Change of Courses
