Wiggsy Sivertsen Scholarship
Purpose
The Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Faculty/Staff Association of San José State University is proud to announce a scholarship for students who have demonstrated a commitment to making the University a more open environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender students.
Applicants may demonstrate their commitment by involvement in any of the following areas
- Involvement in a class
- Involvement in a campus organization
- Providing campus services
- Participation in research related to LGBT issues
Requirements:
- Applicants/recipients must also demonstrate ongoing progress towards a degree
- Must be enrolled students at SJSU during both the Spring and Fall 2010 semesters
- Carry a minimum of six (6) units each semester
- Minimum G.P.A. 2.5
The scholarship is funded by an endowment established in honor of Wiggsy Sivertsen, Professor and former Director of Counseling Services and long-time advocate for lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender issues at San José State University and in the community.
