English Language Proficiency Requirement

Applicants who have earned a degree from a university in which the language of instruction was not English must take The Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) examination. The university minimum entrance score is 80 (internet based) TOEFL and 7.0 IELTS. All test scores must be less than 2 years old. The English language proficiency requirement may be waived only if the student has:

  • Received a BS or MS degree from an accredited U.S. institution.
  • Completed 72 semester units or 108 quarter units in a U.S. institution.
  • Completed 3 years full-time school in a U.S. institution.
  • University's medium instruction and examinations were conducted in English. Applicant must produce statement from the university's registrar's office on school letterhead. Minimum 3 years of matriculation is required.
LSAT (For MS Taxation Program only)

The LSAT is a half-day standardized test required for admission to all 196 law schools that are members of the Law School Admission Council (LSAC or Law Services). It provides a standard measure of reading and verbal reasoning skills that law schools can use as one of several factors in assessing applicants.  The test is administered four times a year at hundreds of locations around the world.
