Bio:

Dr. Runhui Lin, Professor in organization sciences and corporate governance of Business School, Nankai University, China; Director of Selten Laboratory of Nankai University  (on experimental economics and management) and research fellow of Corporate Governance Research Center; visiting scholar at Harvard University(2004-05), member of AOM, AIS etc., adviser of several corporations including UFIDA Software Co. Ltd. ; peer reviewer of AOM, National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) and top management journals in China like Nankai Business Review etc. His research focuses on network organizations and network governance, corporate governance, organization innovation and change, system analysis of complex organization systems and management systems, and network analysis methodology. He has published papers and books in Chinese and English in the above fields. He teaches courses like “Topics on network governance”, “IT management” and “Introduction to management sciences and engineering” to the doctoral, master and MBA students.

Title:

Alliance governance and innovation--evidence from the high-tech industry and enterprises in China.

Abstract:

The paper will show how the alliance network will help integrate and gain internal and external resources and foster technology innovation in wireless telecommunication industry in China, and how alliance governance structure and mechanisms can protect and improve network-based innovation capability and competitive advantages.
