Public Affairs is a resource for the campus and broader SJSU community on how to work with elected officials at the local, state and federal levels, and on pending legislation, which impacts higher education. We are responsible for leading advocacy efforts with legislators and building community and external relations for the university. We also serve as a resource for these entities on the university and our mission.
The office serves as the liaison to the California State University's Office of Advocacy and Institutional Relations in Sacramento, and assists system-wide efforts to promote the CSU's legislative agenda and messages.
We are committed to enhancing relationships with our community partners, particularly community, neighborhood and business leaders, the city of San José, and educational institutions. We serve as a liaison to these groups, participate in joint activities, and keep them informed on campus news and activities.
