What is Spartan Squad?
Spartan Squad is the official student athletic booster program of San José State University supporting SJSU athletics. Founded in the Fall of 2005 by Matthew Olivieri and Brad Villeggiante, with support from Associated Students, the Squad increases SJSU pride, unity and spirit throughout the student body.
Spartans Transform Construction Site into a Work of Art
An SJSU Art student painting a mural, located by the Student Union, in front of the Art Building. Students have decided to paint the wall that was put up after construction started in order to celebrates the continuity of the past and present by showcasing artist self-portraits of the past five hundred years.
Welcome to Spring Semester 2013!
We hope your semester is progressing along nicely. Lots of good things are happening in RTVF. For example:
Congratulations to Dr. Drew Todd who's article, "Marked Woman (1937) and the Dialectics of Art Deco in the Classical Gangster Genre" recently appeared in the peer-reviewed, online journal Film, Fashion & Consumption (1.3, December 2012). Some RTVF screenwriters also won awards at the Broadcast Education Association competition (we will post the details—with photos—in a few days).
Next week begins the Cinequest Film Festival (www.cinequest.org) to check out the schedule and mark your calendars to attend the event SPOTLIGHT ON SPARTAN FILMS

Here are some VERY IMPORTANT things you need to do immediately:
1. BOOKMARK THE RTVF BLOG (or set up your digital feeds)

2. DECLARE YOUR MAJOR/MINOR
If you are an RTVF major or minor, make sure you have declared your major/minor. Our course schedule (and the number of courses we are allowed to offer) are determined by the number of students we have.
3. SEE YOUR ADVISOR
Dr. Kimb Massey has completed her assignment as Interim Director so she is now available again for advising. And we welcome our newest faculty, Harry Mathias, into the fold.
RTVF Advisors are assigned by the first letter of the student's last name.

4. JOIN THE RTVF GOOGLE EMAIL GROUP
To improve communications, the RTVF PROGRAM has set up an email Google group for RTVF majors/minors. Please join the group for up-to-date information: http://groups.google.com/group/rtvf-info
