ENROLLMENT REPORT for Fall Semester 2013!

If you refer to SJSU's 2013-2014 Academic Calendar, you will see the following important dates:
August 19 (Monday) Academic year begins
August 19-20 (Monday-Tuesday) Orientation activities, advisement, faculty meetings and conferences
August 21 (Wednesday) First Day of instruction (Classes Begin)

RTVF Class Sections Still Open 

If you have not registered, YOU NEED TO DO SO IMMEDIATELY. Low enrolled courses will be cancelled so it is up to you to get registered asap.

RTVF 132b Advanced Cinematography prerequisite of 132b relaxed for the fall 2013 semester

 
RTVF 132b Advanced Cinematography is an advanced cinematography class that is production intensive, and is intended to be taken after 132a, so that is why 132a is listed as the prerequisite to 132b. 
 
Since I just started teaching cinematography at SJSU, a lot of my last semester 132a Beginning Cinematography students were graduating seniors. This makes the returning pool of eligible students for RTVF 132b very small. 
 
So this semester, we will slightly revise 132b to be a mainly hands on production class in cinematography for this semester only. This is mostly what the class always taught anyway. The main difference is that the knowledge of cinematography fundamentals that are taught in 132a will not be required in 132b this semester, and you will be able to be successful in 132b without it. 
 
RTVF 132a will still be taught this semester to give RTVF students a proper understanding of the basics of Cinematography. Students may also take 132a and 132b simultaneously for this semester only.  

This revision of 132b as a cinematography production class will allow the class to shoot film content to use in the San Jose State University production of Macbeth as we intended to do, and other short film projects that will be produced during the semester.

NOTE: Our course schedule (and the number of courses we are allowed to offer) are determined by the number of students we have, so declaring your major will help us make room for more students.
