Prescription medication may be purchased at the Student Health Center (SHC) Pharmacy, which is licensed by the State of California and adheres to all applicable State codes and regulations.

Prescription Information:

• Prescriptions from outside physicians can be filled if the medication is stocked by the pharmacy.  
• Some non-prescription over-the-counter medications are also available.  The cost of items purchased at the pharmacy is at a reduced rate.  
• Students who purchase the supplemental health insurance or have a private insurance may submit prescription receipts to their insurance for reimbursement.  The pharmacy does not accept any insurance plans or submit claims.  
• Students may take prescriptions written by SHC clinicians to outside pharmacies for filling if desired.

• Cash or Check can be paid at the front desk. 
• Credit Cards can be used to pay online without a service fee by clicking on the button.

Fall/Spring Semester:

• Monday and Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm
• Tuesday: 10:00am to 5:00pm
• Wednesday: 9:00am to 5:00pm
• Friday: 8:00am-4:00pm
• Daily Lunch Break: 12:30pm to 1:30pm

We are located on the first floor (HB 102) of the Health Building, opposite of Radiology.

To refill a prescription originally filled at the SHC Pharmacy:

1. If there are valid refills (less than 1 year old) available on the prescription, come by or call the SHC Pharmacy at (408) 924-6115 to request the refill. To decrease waiting time, it is best to call at least 24 hours prior to the next pharmacy business day.
2. If there are no refills left on the prescription, you may:
   • call your prescriber to request a new prescription or
   • call (408) 924-6115 to ask the pharmacist to contact your prescriber for refill authorization or
   • call your prescriber to phone a refill to (408) 924-6115 or to fax the refill request to (408) 924-6298

To transfer a prescription from an outside pharmacy to the SHC Pharmacy:

1. If there are refills remaining at the other pharmacy, call (408) 924-6115 or come to the SHC Pharmacy with your prescription label. We will call the other pharmacy for the transfer. The transaction should be completed by the next pharmacy business day.
2. If there are no refills left on the prescription, you may:
   • call your prescriber to request a new prescription or
   • call (408) 924-6115 to ask the pharmacist to contact your prescriber for refill authorization or
   • call your prescriber to phone a refill to (408) 924-6115 or to fax the refill request to (408) 924-6298
