Each year, CPGE hosts events that celebrate the dedication and accomplishments of students, faculty and staff at San Jose State.

Spring Breakfast with the Dean (April 2016)

The Dean of the College of Professional and Global Education set forth to host a breakfast for the CPGE staff. The purpose of the breakfast was to bring the staff together to inform and update everyone with the plans for the 2016 year. The Dean also hosted team building activities that brought various departmental staff together working as a team while increasing a positive atmosphere.

Fall Welcome Back Breakfast (August 2016)

This year’s Fall Welcome Back Breakfast included a special visit from the Provost Andrew Feinstein. This allowed CPGE to gain insight on events happening throughout campus and enable questions and concerns to be addressed by the provost. The main purpose of this is event was to bring all of the CPGE units together to promote a positive attitude and generate an energetic environment that members of the University environment can feel when interacting with our staff members.

International Week Staff Workshop (November 2016)

The CPGE Fall retreat is brought to us by our Leadership staff, introducing Janet Bennett, PhD, a renowned leader in intercultural communication, who will be visiting our College and hosting a special workshop called "Imagining Intercultural Perspectives."

 This workshop will:

  • Identify three intercultural competencies vital to disarming implicit assumptions and biases

  • Practice approaches for suspending judgment and shifting styles

  • Attempt to avoid discussing ideas you have discussed before

 

 CPGE Staff Welcome Mixer (July 2017)

Event to occur July 2017.

This CPGE event is in celebration of the College's return to campus and bringing all of the departments under one roof. This event is to promote collaboration and cohesiveness throughout the various units.
