The SJSU Faculty Staff Christian Fellowship is organized for the purpose of honoring and glorifying God. We do this by praying for the well-being of the University community, by setting forth a positive example of the Biblical Christian worldview, by attending to the needs of the campus community, and by sharing the love of God through Jesus Christ.
We welcome all who would like to learn more about what it means to be a follower of Jesus or who desire to glorify God on the SJSU campus.

The next meeting will be at 1 p.m. on Friday the 24th of September. For the Zoom link for the meetings and for information about the group, ask Buff Furman (firstname.lastname@example.org).
The plan for our meetings for the rest of the semester will be to read and discuss the book, Sent: Living a Life That Invites Others to Jesus, by Ashley and Heather Holleman.
David Zagrodny will facilitate the discussion of Chapter 1 on 9/24/21, and he recommends that with the meetings we have left this semester, we go over these chapters of the 12 that are in the book.
Ch 1 “Believing That God is at Work Around You”
Ch 3 “Believing God’s Titles and Job Descriptions for Your Life”
Ch 4 “”Believing in Supernatural Power”
Ch 8 “The Easiest Questions to Ask”
Ch 9 “The Easiest Story to Tell”
The name of the group emphasizes staff and faculty, but students and others are welcome.

From David Zagrodney, David.ZagRodny@cru.org:
Please join us Saturday October 2nd to hear from others who have honored Christ in their teaching, research, and service to the university campus as we explore with other Christian professors our common call to the university and the world and enjoy the chance to network with colleagues from other university campuses.
October 2, 2021 9am - 11:30am PDT (virtual via Zoom)
A Common Call: A Zoom Conference
Facilitated by Susan Siaw
Sponsored by Faculty Commons
Our time together will include several breakout discussion sessions, and will be facilitated by Dr. Susan Siaw, professor of Psychology at Cal Poly, Pomona (PhD, University of Southern California). This is Dr. Siaw’s 37th year as a psychology professor at Cal Poly Pomona. Over the course of the past 37 years, God has been faithful and patient as she developed from a “bystander participant” in faculty ministry to “hesitant leader” of the faculty ministry on her campus, to “very excited leader” of the ministry on her campus and spokesperson for Faculty Commons.
Please register here. The conference is free to charge, but registration ahead of time is required. A Zoom link will be emailed upon registration.
The meeting room will open at 8:45 am and we will wrap up by 11:30.
We welcome faculty participants throughout the West Coast - and beyond.
Sponsored by Faculty Commons, Portland.

Buff Furman's "Missional Moment"
https://mailchi.mp/facultycommons/payattention?e=2ea6412835 has an article sent through Faculty Commons in which Buff Furman discusses "Oddly enough, I find the more religious people are, the less likely they are to actually pay attention to what is written in the biblical text."
