Instructionally-Related Activities Fee

Students walking on campus in various directions

San José State University’s Campus Fee Advisory Committee (CFAC) conducted an alternative consultation process to review a proposal to introduce a new Category II mandatory fee. The goal of this proposal is to strengthen SJSU’s ability to support our students' academic success, health, and overall experience. The new fee, approved by the California State University Chancellor’s Office with changes in allocations and a reduction the total amount following campus feedback, will sustain and enhance vital programs that directly benefit students. The robust alternative consultation process yielded meaningful student feedback. As approved, the fee will take effect this coming academic year, be phased in to the full amount over three years, and will help SJSU provide high-quality, affordable and accessible instructionally-related programming for all students.
