There are several ways to contact us in the department of Social Science. The department is generally open from 9 to 5 weekdays, closed 12-1 for lunch. Summer hours differ, so please call to check. The department phone is (408) 924-5740 and the fax is (408) 924-5753.
The Department of Social Science is located on the second floor of Dudley Moorhead Hall in room 239. Moorhead Hall is located on the northwest side of the campus, on E. San Fernando Street between Fifth & Sixth Streets. We are two buildings northeast of the Martin Luther King Jr. Library.

Directions
From the 280 freeway: take the 10th/11th Street exit, and take 11th Street northbound (right from the northbound exit; left from the southbound). 11th is a one-way street that takes you parallel to the east side of campus. Make a left onto San Fernando and you can either park just ahead on your right in the 10th Street Parking Structure, or proceed about four blocks down to Moorhead Hall; there are one-hour meters on the right side of the street.
You can also exit the 280 at 7th street; proceed northbound til 7th ends at campus. Proceed across San Salvador and make a left into the 7th Street parking structure. Both the 7th and 10th street structures have (limited) automated pay stations that accept coins, $1, $5 and $10 bills.
From the 87 expressway south: Take the St. James exit; make a left onto St. James and proceed about five blocks. You'll see St. James Park on your right - just after the park ends, make a right onto Fourth Street. Three blocks down on your left is the Martin Luther King Library (corner of campus). Make a left and go about half a block to Moorhead Hall; there is metered parking on the left side of the street, or proceed down five more blocks to the 10th Street Parking Structure on your left (go to 11th and make a U-turn to come back to the parking structure).
From the 101 freeway: Exit on Santa Clara, proceed west on Santa Clara two miles to 10th Street. Make a left on Tenth, go one block to make a right onto San Fernando. Make a quick right into the 10th Street Parking Structure or proceed about four blocks down to Moorhead Hall; there are one-hour meters on the right side of the street.
From public transit: In mornings and early afternoons, take the free Downtown shuttle (DASH) from the Diridon Caltrain station. Shuttles run every 10 minutes from 6:15 a.m. to 6:55 p.m. Monday through Friday, and go right along Fourth Street and the west edge of campus.
San Fernando has VTA bus stops near Fourth Street for lines 63, 65, 72, 73, and 81; one block north, Santa Clara has stops for the 22, 64, 81, and 522.
Finally, the Paseo de San Antonio Light Rail station is two blocks west of campus on First and Second Street.
