
Foreign Travel Insurance is required for all international travel. All SJSU Faculty, staff and students traveling outside the United States on University business are required to complete a Request for Approval of Travel form and submit it to the Provost's Office. The Provost's Office will forward a copy to Safety and Risk in Human Resources to arrange the insurance.
The Foreign Travel Insurance program provides accident & sickness (including medical coverage), general liability, excess auto liability, foreign workers’ compensation, and executive assistance (including legal assistance, embassy/consular contacts and assistance in replacing lost documents).
Coverage does not extend to countries which are subject to trade or economic sanctions or regulations by the United States of America or “war risk” countries. If the traveler wishes to visit a “war risk” or embargo country, approval in advance must be requested from the underwriter. Contact Safety and Risk for more details.
