Announcements

The Department Office and Faculty Offices for Sociology and Interdisciplinary Social Sciences have moved (click on 'Office Hours' through the 'Faculty& Staff' tab above for details). 

The Department Office is located in Sweeney Hall 437 and is open Mondays through Fridays from 8 AM to 5 PM.

Dr. Natalie Boero is a Major Advisor and is available in Sweeney Hall 438 for the following times starting Monday, August 29th.

Mondays: 9 AM to 11 AM; 5 PM to 6 PM
Wednesdays: 7:30 AM to 10:30 AM
Friday (Sept 16 and Nov 18th ONLY): 12:15 PM to 1:15 PM

Dr. Faustina DuCros is a Major Advisor and is available in Sweeney Hall 223 for the following times starting Monday, August 29th.

Planning to Graduate in Spring/Summer 2017?

The deadline to submit your Application for Graduation and Major Form to the Office of the Registrar for Spring/Summer 2017 graduation is May 1st, 2016 to receive 2 semesters of priority registration. These forms require the signature of the Acting Department Chair, Dr. Carlos Garcia. After meeting with an advisor to approve your contract, submit your forms to the SISS department office in DMH 241 at least a week before the deadline.  Late forms will not be accommodated. Be sure to attach 2 unofficial transcripts, a printout of the "My Academics" homepage via your MySJSU, and your course history report to complete your application packet.

New students are no longer being accepted into the Sociology Concentration in Criminology.
