The Center for Comparative Philosophy at San Jose State University is the first organized research center for comparative philosophy (as broadly understood in a philosophically interesting way) in the US. Its philosophy faculty represent a wide variety of (culture-associated or style/orientation-associated) philosophical traditions and have remarkable research agendas and publication records. A peer-reviewed, open-access international journal Comparative Philosophy, edited by its International Editorial Board, is jointly published by the Center and the University Library at SJSU. Faculty and students of comparative philosophy at SJSU enjoy a rich network of ideological, cultural and international resources in the dynamic California Bay Area.
