Career Opportunities

  • SJSU is located in the Bay Area, which has a diverse population. Many students choose to work within the city and go on to work for one of our local healthcare agencies.
  • According to 2023, US News, 100 Best Jobs in America, Nurse Practitioner is listed as #2 and has a median salary of $120,680.
  • Nurse Practitioners in California make an average of $151,830 per year, which is 28% higher than the National Average.

My advice for the nurses that really want to pursue this program is don’t think about it, don’t delay, just do it. This program is very flexible and allows us to maintain a full-time job and still be able to come to school and pursue a higher level degree.
