Academic Technology Network

Enabling Student Success
Connecting Students, Faculty and Staff
Supporting Sustainability

Today’s modern technology offers exciting new opportunities for flexible, dynamic and effective instruction. The Academic Technology Network utilizes this potential with production and distribution services for video-conferencing and webcasting. The Academic Technology Network is the distance education group in the Media Production and Delivery unit of the Academic Technology Department at SJSU.

What We Do

We broadcast live from our media classrooms located in the Instructional Resource Center (IRC), 3rd floor. We distribute live classes and archived recordings through Blackboard Collaborate and our streaming servers. Classes, events and meetings can be offered using one or all of these resources, increasing access for all while reducing energy consumption.

ATN Room Use Policy

ATN facilities are available for use by University staff and faculty for SJSU academic and administrative uses. There are no charges for equipment use or staff support for activities funded by the general fund. For Special Session and other non-general fund requests usage rates are charged. Non-University activities with a campus sponsor may also be supported on a case by case basis. These will be charged at an external agency rate.

ATN has four major technology delivery modes:

•  Blackboard Collaborate

•  Videoconferencing

•  Webcasting/Streaming (Live Classes and Archived Classes)

•  Large Group Voice Conferencing
