Our Mission

The mission of Accounting Services Department is to maintain and ensure the accuracy and integrity of the University's General Ledger and to provide managerial and operational information to the University administration, the Chancellors Office and the State Controller's Office.  The Accounting Services Department is focused on providing customers with a high level of accurate information and outstanding customer service.

Overview of Services

  • Chart of accounts maintenance
  • Coordination of month-end, year-end close and audits
  • Financial accounting and reporting, including items such as:

      • Financial aid programs
      • Student accounts
      • Funds
      • Plant assets
      • Long term debt
  • Department chargebacks, outside customer and auxiliary billing
  • General Ledger oversight, including balance sheet account reconciliation
  • Petty cash oversight and reconciliation
  • Cash posting order (CSU intercampus order and charges)
  • Nonresident alien tax assessment
  • Unrelated business income tax reporting (UBIT)
  • Trust fund agreement renewal coordination
  • Fund number assignment and fund closure coordination
  • Item Type (chartfield string) set-up coordination for student financial system
  • Student financial system adjustments
