Fall Commencement ceremonies take place at the start of wet weather. This may mean some precipitation and colder weather on and around campus. To the fullest extent possible, while maintaining comfort and safety, San José State University will continue to hold Commencement ceremonies as scheduled.

Commencement staff will prepare with extra precautions and facilities preparations to ensure we can continue to celebrate and honor our graduating Spartans.

2026 El Niño climate effects are expected to bring elevated levels of stormy weather to the west coast, including San José. Prepare to attend during periods of precipitation and allow extra time to arrive to campus safely.
