MESA Program at San José State University
We’re thrilled that you’re considering joining a community dedicated to advancing equity and opportunity in STEM. MESA provides academic support, professional development, mentoring, and a vibrant peer network to help you thrive.
Admission is offered to eligible applicants on a space-available basis, and we encourage interested students to apply.
Program Expectations
Requirements to maintain in good standing.
- Advising
Freshmen (First Years/Frosh) & Sophomores (2nd Years/Soph) must complete three (3) meetings with your assigned MESA peer advisor each semester.
All other students (Juniors, Seniors+) must complete one (1) meeting with an assigned full-time MESA staff member.
- Events
All MESA students must attend one (1) professional development or career-focused "Access" event each semester.
All MESA students must attend one (1) social or community-focused "Engagement" event each semester.
