About ASC
The Academic Success Center (ASC) in Clark Hall is a
10,000 square foot facility dedicated to enhancing student learning and academic
quality. As a key part of the university's Vision 2010 strategic
initiative, the ASC is a nexus of student services and support designed to
promote academic innovation and success. Comprised of a 3,000 square foot
computer learning stage surrounded by three student conference rooms, an
incubator classroom and conference room, and nine tech-enhanced classroom, the
ASC provides students and faculty with the technology tools they need to
succeed. The ASC also incorporates six offices with vital student services
all available in one central location; they include the writing center, career
center, peer mentoring, university library, service learning and academic advising.
The goal is to create an environment that will foster
creative, collaborative learning environments for students and faculty by making
effective use of resources and technology to prepare students for 21st century
careers. SJSU is striving to produce a college graduate who understands
the importance of utilizing technology to communicate and learn. The Academic Success Center is a
hub of transformation and will help catapult SJSU faculty and students
into a new era of experimentation in learning and
collaboration.
