This page provides very basic information about accessing the SJSU wireless network.

What is the SJSU Wireless Network?

The SJSU wireless network is a Wi-Fi network using standard wireless network protocols. This network is operated by Comcast, under contract to our university.

Wireless/Laptop Computing Project Network

Support information for the SJSU wireless network used for the project is available on the project web site. The SJSU Help Desk provides direct and hands on support for users of the SJSU wireless network. Service of the network itself is performed by Comcast. For problems accessing the network please call the Comcast Helpdesk at (866) 353-1607 if you are not sure if you should call the SJSU Help Desk or Comcast, call us at (408) 924-2377.

Access for members of the campus community

SJSU faculty, staff and currently enrolled students are the normal users of the SJSU wireless network. Normal users of the must authenticate to the SJSU wireless network using an authentication service provided by SJSUOne. In computer security, authentication is the process of attempting to verify the digital identity of the sender of a communication such as a request to log in.

Guest Access

Guest accounts are now available for the SJSU wireless network. These accounts are designated for guest speakers, lectures or other guests who may be authorized to use the SJSU wireless network.
