This page is designed lead you to information you need to have to setup the the e-mail client Outlook 2007 as a client for the main university e-mail servers.

Before you Proceed

This what you need to know to configure your e-mail client software:

• The type of e-mail account you have
• Your user name and password
• Your incoming server settings
• Your outgoing server settings

If you do not have the information listed above then go to this page.

How to configure Outlook 2007 for University Email (Lotus Notes) accounts and UNIX email accounts?

1. Open Microsoft Outlook from start menu.
2. If this is the first time you have used Outlook and/or you have no e-mail accounts already configured in Outlook 2007 you will be asked to use the Outlook 2007 startup wizard. For the sake of this tutorial we will assume this is the case. Please click on next. This will bring you to the Account Configuration, Email accounts page.
3. Be sure yes is selected and then click on Next to go to the next screen.
4. Do not enter any information on this screen. We need to manually configure this account. So, click on the option to manually configure server settings, and then click next.
5. Select the first option (Internet E-Mail) and click next.
6. Please select IMAP server. Then enter the information you have already gathered (see above) for your incoming server.
7. The outgoing server is the same for both University e-mail (Lotus Notes) accounts and UNIX email accounts. Enter the information you have already gathered (see above) for your outgoing server. Now enter your account password in the password field. Check to be sure the user name is the same as you have already gathered. If you do not have your password please contact the help desk to get your password reset. We do not have the ability to look this up for you.
8. You can test these settings before you click next. So, click on the test account settings.
9. If the test is successful then just close that window and click on the next.
10. After you close that screen all the folders from the server will download to the Outlook 2007 and you can access your emails from Microsoft Outlook 2007.
