Note: Using these settings will configure your E-mail to be
downloaded to your computer and not be saved on the campus E-mail
server!
1. Click on "Tools". 2. Click on "Options" 3. Choose the "Getting Started" category. 4. Fill in your full real name for "Real Name"
(Example, John Doe) 5. For "Return Address" fill in your entire E-mail
address (Example, jdoe@email.sjsu.edu) 6. For "Mail Server" (Incoming) enter
"pop.sjsu.edu". 7. For "Login Name" enter your user ID (Example,
jdoe) 8. The "Outgoing Mail Server" is a variable depending
on whether you are accessing mail from on or off campus and how, if
you are off campus.
* If you are accessing mail on
campus, or using a SJSU provided dial-up connection to get your
mail, it will be smtp.sjsu.edu almost always!
* If you are off campus and using an
Internet Service Provider (ISP), that ISP will have to provide you
with your appropriate settings for this!
9. Choose the "Incoming Mail" category 10. Choose "POP" and be sure the button "Password" is
selected 11. Click "OK" to save these options 12. You are ready to check your mail
