Wireless
What is SJSU WirelessA new, campus-wide Comcast wireless network, sponsored by Associated Students and San José State University, started full operation on December 16, 2005. It replaced the existing University run BlueSocket wireless network and has more than quadrupled the coverage across the campus. The wireless network now covers almost every building and classroom on the main campus. You can also connect wirelessly from outdoor areas outside of the Student Union, University House and MacQuarrie and Sweeney Halls. This is a major milestone in accessibility for students, faculty and employees on the campus and in the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. library. One special feature of the network is the "Walled Garden" that provides links to the websites for the Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Library, City of San Jose and SJSU without any login. For other connections to other websites such as yahoo.com or eBay.com, you will need to log in with a valid SJSUOne ID. If you do not have an SJSUOne ID, you should obtain on-line at www.sjsu.edu/sjsuone. This is a huge project for the University and I appreciate your support and look forward to any suggestion you may have to make this network better.
