The Clery Act requires institutions with a campus police or security department publish
a Daily Crime Log. The purpose of this log is to record all criminal incidents and
alleged criminal incidents that are reported to the University Police Department.
This includes any crime within the patrol jurisdiction of the SJSU's Police Department,
not just Clery crimes in Clery geography.
As required by the Clery Act, this report is published every year by October 1st.
This report contains information regarding various institutional policies, procedures
and programs related to safety and security of the university community.
This report also includes a disclosure of statistics regarding Clery-reportable crimes
that occurred on or within SJSU’s Clery-reportable geography for the three most recent
calendar years.
The Higher Education Act Fire Safety Regulations require institutions with on-campus
student housing facilities to publish this report every year by October 1st. This
report contains information regarding various fire safety policies, procedures and
programs.
This report also includes a disclosure of statistics regarding reportable fires that
occurred in those housing facilities for the three most recent calendar years.
As required by California Education Code § 67380 this report is published every year
by January 1st. This report contains information regarding special safeguards that
have been established for particular facilities or activities in the preceding 18
months to increase safety, and safety enhancements expected to be made during the
next 24 months.
This report also includes a disclosure of statistics regarding certain federal and
state crimes reported to have occurred on campus property during the calendar year
specified in the report.
As required by the Drug-Free Schools and Communities Act, this report is published
every other year. This report contains information regarding the effectiveness of
the institution’s Drug and Alcohol Abuse Prevention Program (DAAPP), consistency of
sanction enforcement, and various institutional efforts to prevent unlawful possession,
use and distribution of illicit drugs and alcohol abuse.
This report also includes a disclosure of statistics regarding alcohol and drug-related
violations, fatalities and university-imposed sanctions that occurred during the years
specified in the report.
