Biography

I am the Associate Director in the Office of Institutional Research (IR). I joined the IR team in January of 2007. Prior to joining SJSU, I spent five years as the Information Technology Consultant in Academic Affairs at Sacramento State University. I have spent most of my professional career with the California State University System. I received a BA in graphic design from Sacramento State and a Master of Library and Information Science from San Jose State.

My expertise is in the areas of reporting and data, specifically with students, faculty and course data. Examples of reporting include the Enrollment Reporting System (ERS) and the Academic Planning Database (APDB). Examples of data include student enrollments, courses, assigned time and faculty workload. Most of my professional career has been spent working with very large sets of information and databases, both building and retrieving data in systems such as Oracle and MS SQL Server.

I support student success at SJSU by providing data and reports on equity gaps in order to provide better service to students and helping them succeed. I have helped in identifying students who are close to academic probation so more aid can be provided to them. I assist in providing any information or data needed to help students in their goal for educational attainment.

During my free time, I like to plunge myself into other worlds either through books, movies or video games.
