New Student and Family Programs offers several programs to support new students and their parent/families as they transition into SJSU! This website offers information regarding our Orientation programs, as well as Parent & Family resources on how to best support your student!

Spring 2020 Office Updates

Due to the Santa Clara County shelter-in-place order, effective Tuesday, March 17, 2020, our physical office space on campus is closed until further notice. Our professional staff are working remotely and are still available to help via email Monday-Friday from 9:00am - 5:00pm. If you are a first year student email us at frosh-orientation@sjsu.edu. If you are a transfer student email us at transfer-orientation@sjsu.edu. If you are a parent, family or supporter email us at mystudentis@sjsu.edu. Thank you for your patience and understanding. We wish you well and hope you stay healthy during this time.

Spartan Link

Prior to attending orientation, new students must complete Spartan Link, our online pre-orientation module. This module will help answer some of your immediate transition questions and help you prepare for your on-campus orientation.

Sparta Camp (Frosh Orientation)

All admitted first year students must attend one mandatory Sparta Camp (Frosh Orientation) session, which is a two day virtual experience.

Spartan Experience for Transfers (Transfer Orientation)

All admitted transfer students must attend one mandatory Spartan Experience for Transfers (SET) Orientation, which is a one-day virtual experience.

Parent and Family Weekend (PFW)

We are excited to invite new and returning parents, families and supporters to SJSU for a weekend full of tradition and festivities. Parent & Family Weekend occurs in the Fall. The final dates depend on the ESPN footaball schedule and will be released in late spring.

Donate and Make a Difference!

Help NSFP provide opportunities for parent and family members to feel more connected to campus and to understand their vital role in supporting their students. Donations made will help cover the cost of facility and equipment rentals, registration fees and staffing for all parent and family programs provided throughout the year.
