Clare Markovits - Moderator
Senior Director, Business Operations Chief Digital Office, Cisco
Clare Markovits serves as Chief of Staff in the company's Chief Digital office. In this role, she supports the organization’s overall operations, planning and governance including driving cross-functional, transformational initiatives in support of the operating model redesign. Day to day responsibilities include operations, organizational and people planning, budget oversight, strategic communications and stakeholder management. She works closely with the Chief Digital Officer and other top-ranking Cisco executive teams to ensure alignment, operationalize and orchestration of CDO efforts.
Prior to this role Clare, led the Acquisition Integration Customer, Partner and Employee Experience in the Chief Strategy office, supporting the integration of 41 Cisco acquisitions, investments and divestures. She effectively supported the onboarding of more than 8,000 employees resulting in a 70%+ retention record while posting a 30% gain in productivity.
Large-scale, complex transformational initiatives are the hallmark of Clare’s career. From global service deployment processes and the development & launch of highly technical software to CRM solutions and strategic alliances, she has continuously received accolades for playing the role of 'visionary pragmatist.' She joined Cisco in 1999 as a business development manager where she launched five e-business joint solutions that included Cisco products, CRM and ERP partners and consulting services. From there, she took on increasing levels of responsibility in the company across divisions where she made financial and operational impact.
From strategy to execution, Clare is a visionary “’pragmatist” in her ability to see the big picture, motivate teams, all while solving tough business problems and building scalable platforms for the future.
Resourceful and innovative, she always searches out new ways to deliver value to employees, customers, and partners while driving revenue growth, improving business operations and establishing industry best practices.
Clare also continues to blaze trails in Cisco as a leader of gender diversity. She works across the company to attract, develop and retain talented female employees and has a passion for mentoring & coaching women in all stages of their career.
Clare graduated from San Luis Obispo Cal Poly State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Materials Engineering. She subsequently attended Santa Clara University where she earned her Master’s in Business Administration with a concentration in international business. She and her husband are proud parent of an adopted eight-year old child Mara Christina from the country of Georgia. Her loving extended family includes both sets of grandparents, six aunts, five uncles and fifteen cousins. Her husband, Mara and she love to cook & eat, listen & play music, explore new adventures, read & solve puzzles and to share Mara’s Georgian heritage & culture. Mara has brought joy to the entire extended family and they are actively involved in her development and progress.
EHRIKA C. GLADDEN
Vice President, Market Strategy
Ehrika is Vice President, Market Strategy, Enterprise Networking for Cisco Systems. She leads a global organization for a $19 billion business unit, which oversees go-to-market performance, requirements and competitive intelligence for enterprise networking core routing, software, WAN/LAN, wireless and security products and solutions. Prior to her role as Vice President, Ehrika led Cisco’s Americas cloud consumption start up to a $3.2 billion value creating a new revenue stream for the corporation.
Ehrika has been nationally recognized for her inclusive leadership development initiatives and practices. She built a program for diverse talent attraction, retention, and promotion, which has resulted in three times the promotion rate for program participants. She also serves as a Director for the Pennsylvania Women’s Conference Board and is a Cisco Foundation Trustee. Formerly the Vice Chair, she is a member of the Executive Leadership Council (ELC). As Vice Chair of ELC, Ehrika co-chaired the Audit committee establishing a performance metrics model resulting in a new operating model for the non-profit and the board. She has received multiple awards focused on inclusive leadership and diversity.
Before arriving at Cisco, Ehrika was a sales and general management P&L leader in the voice technology industry leading organizations for startups and F500 corporations. She received her Bachelor of Arts from the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill. She and her husband reside in the Silicon Valley area. Ehrika enjoys basketball, tennis, cooking, and traveling globally.
Vice President and General Manager
Throughout her 20+-year career, Kara Long has worked in several capacities toward
one goal – connecting customers with the right opportunities for their growth. Starting
with a firmly-held belief that solving customer problems is the singular key to good
business, Kara’s outside-in approach couples with her proven business acumen to drive
results for HPE and its customers.
As Senior Director of Service Provider Growth Markets within HPE Servers, Kara leads a cross-functional team of engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, sales, channel and services professionals with a simple mandate: deliver the right product at the right cost at the right time, every time. Kara and her team turn meaningful customer conversations into delivered infrastructure solutions that help clients win today and grow tomorrow.
Previously, Kara led HPE’s Core Enterprise Server marketing group, managing all outbound marketing efforts for the world’s best-selling server platform. Prior to that, Kara served as an M&A Executive for Dell’s Software Security and Cloud Compute businesses and as Co-Lead of Services Strategy and Consumer Marketing, where she was recognized with the Vice President’s “Most Valuable Player” Award for her stewardship of Dell’s multi-billion dollar Services business.
Director of Engineering
Suja is Director of Engineering for the Big Data Applications and Platform Organization which is responsible for LinkedIn's MetaData Platform, A/B testing platform, Tracking and many marketing/sales applications that are used to make key business decisions at LinkedIn. Prior to that she led the Big Data Platform at LinkedIn. This platform powers products like 'People You May Know', Feed relevance, etc. Some of the open source contributions from the team include, Gobblin, Azkaban, Dr.Elephant. Prior to joining LinkedIn, Suja led BigInsights Hadoop team, Database teams at IBM.
Suja holds an MS in computer Engineering from San Jose State University. Suja is very passionate about Women in tech and has participated in various panels/talks at Strata Data, DataWorks summit, Strata Data, Girls Who Code, LeanIn, and Universities. She leads the West Coast Networking chapter of Women In Big Data group and also is a board member of an educational charity institution, Pratham USA.
