Asian & Pacific Islander Heritage Month

Asian & Pacific Islander (API) Heritage Month is an annual month-long celebration of Asian and Pacific Islanders in the United States. Nationally, this month is celebrated in May, but at SJSU, we celebrate jointly with Southwest Asian and North African (SWANA) Heritage Month. Throughout the month, CAPISE and other campus partners will host programs and events highlighting and uplifting the stories, histories, and experiences of Asian and Pacific Islanders. Our theme for 2026 is "Canvas of the Future".

Our 2026 calendar graphic is designed by Erica Noblet, MOSAIC Cross Cultural Center Graphic Designer and visually complementary to the SWANA Heritage Month calendar.
