The mission of the Gender Equity Center (GenEC) is to advocate for social justice, respect, and safety for all members of the San José State University community, by educating on issues experienced by people because of their gender and/or their perceived gender, through an intersectional lens.

Womxn's History Month

In March we celebrate womxn’s contributions to herstory, culture and society. The celebration has been observed annually in the month of March in the United States since 1987.

Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM)

April is Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). While prevention efforts are year-round, we specifically devote the month of April to spotlighting the issues of sexual assault and other forms of sexual violence.
