Dr. McSharry is a Professor of English and Comparative Literature and brings a wealth of experience with General Education programs to this new role for our campus. The Director of General Education position was created in response to recommendations from the Academic Senate’s GE Assessment Task Force Report (2019) following the most recent GE Program Review. Dr. McSharry will work with departments and course coordinators, and the Academic Senate to support GE program activities and to oversee and evaluate GE, American Institutions, and Core Competencies assessment.
