HFES Student Chapter

The Student Chapter of the Human Factors & Ergonomics Society (HFES) at San Jose State University was established in Spring 2004, and exists to help further the Human Factors and Ergonomics graduate program at SJSU. Our members come from many backgrounds and disciplines, and hold various interests within the HF/E field. Our goals are to:

  • Encourage collaboration between fellow students and faculty by providing a forum to exchange knowledge and discuss different research ideas, theories, and methods used in the field;
  • Build a stronger connection between the professional and academic aspects of Human Factors; and
  • Provide an information and support network to new and existing students.

Events

Throughout the semester, we are planning to hold a variety of events, such as:

  • Hosting industry speakers and academic speakers from other departments and universities
  • Providing a resource for upcoming Human Factors related conferences and speakers
  • Touring local facilities
  • Discussions and round tables on topics ranging from industry methods, research ideas, and current issues surrounding the Human Factors field
  • Organizing social outings
