Welcome from the Department Chair

The Humanities Department at SJSU is home to approximately 300 majors in our three BA Programs: Humanities, Creative Arts, and Liberal Studies Teacher Preparation. Each semester, the Department also serves approximately 1,300 undergraduate students from majors all over campus in our General Education classes.

As of Fall 2021, the Department is especially excited to further embrace the New Humanities with its two newest courses: HUM95 Introduction to Digital Humanities and AMS139 Animals & Society. We thank you for your interest in our Department!
