Employee Services provides the core human resources functions that support employees throughout their time working at SJSU. From recruitment and hiring to benefits, payroll, classification and compensation, leave administration, and employee records, the team delivers responsive, accurate, and people-centered services to faculty and staff across the university.

Get Help

Payroll

Find payroll information, pay schedules, tax forms, direct deposit, deductions, and paycheck support. The team ensures employees are paid accurately and on time while assisting with payroll-related questions and transactions.

Benefits and Leave

Get help with health, retirement, and voluntary benefits, as well as leave programs such as family and medical leave, disability, and paid and unpaid leaves of absence. The team supports employees and departments through benefits enrollment and leave-related processes.

Compensation and Classification

Find information about position classifications, compensation, reclassifications, salary programs, and position management. The team partners with departments to ensure positions are accurately classified and aligned with university and CSU policies.

ADA Accommodations

Request a workplace accommodation or learn about the interactive process under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The team works with employees, applicants, and departments to support equitable access and workplace accommodations.

Employee Data Services

Employee Data Services manages employee records, personnel transactions, and position data to support accurate, timely, and compliant employment administration. The team maintains employment records, processes workforce transactions, supports data quality, and provides operational reporting to help departments and employees throughout the employment lifecycle.  

HRIS

Human Resources Information Services oversees the technology that powers People and Culture. The team manages HR systems, reporting, integrations, security, and process improvements to support efficient operations and informed decision-making across the university.

Talent Strategy

People and Culture supports strategic workforce planning, talent acquisition, onboarding, and organizational initiatives that strengthen the employee experience and help the university attract, develop, and retain talent.

Faculty Employment Services

In partnership with the Division of Academic Affairs, People and Culture assists with administrative and operational support for faculty employment processes; appointments; retention, tenure and promotion (RTP); and other faculty personnel actions while ensuring compliance with university and CSU policies.
