Higher Education Teaching CertificateImmerse yourself in the data analytics process and prepare for next-level data-focused careers with The Master of Science in Data Analytics (MSDA) developed in partnership with industry experts from Silicon Valley. Complete this 30-unit program in two years.
Launched in 2018, the advanced curriculum of the MSDA program was co-developed by five of SJSU’s colleges along with industry experts. Together they designed an affordable program of core courses with a final thesis or project that prepares students to perform research and solve problems using data analytics and tools.
The MSDA program offers two pathways: Regular Session and Special Session.
Regular Session and Special Session students must meet the same graduation requirements and will receive the same diploma when they graduate.

More than 110 Silicon Valley companies have employed MSDA students for internships and permanent positions. Some companies include Adobe, Airbnb, Amazon, Capital One, Cisco, Facebook/Meta, Google/Alphabet, IBM, Intel, Intuit, Juniper, Lucid, PayPal, Tesla, Uber, Visa, VMWare, and Waymo.

- Admission Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution and achieved a GPA of at least 3.0 (on a 4.0 scale) in the bachelor's degree institution or in the last 60 semester or 90 quarter units of all coursework.
- At least one semester each of college calculus, statistics, and programming courses.
- GRE and GMAT scores and recommendation letters are not required.
