About Us

The San José State University Stem Cell Internships in Laboratory-based Learning (SJSU SCILL) is funded by the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). We are a consortium of scientists, faculty and administrative leaders from eight institutions who have made a commitment to train students at the graduate level for careers in stem cell biology.

Program Overview

Over the last decade SJSU SCILL program has graduated more than 150 Masters’ students with advanced training in stem cell biology. The majority are progressing stem cell research and translational therapies. SCILL is committed to educate outstanding professionals from Diverse backgrounds with emphasis on Equity and Inclusion. This program also provides a paid internship ($3k/month) during the second year and up to $8k in tuition coverage during second year.

Applications for SCILL are due by March 1st or until spots are filled. Note – prior application to Masters’ at SJSU/ Biology or Masters’ to SJSU/biotechnology program (MBT) is required. Apply today!
